‘I will save my people,’ God’s final message to Zephaniah

After God has let out the fury of His anger to Prophet Zephaniah, we see, within the same prophetic experience God stretching out His Hand of mercy. The revelation here is that God’s mercy is infinitely mightier than His anger for even in the day of Zephaniah, He was more inclined to the salvation of His people in spite of the turning away of their hearts from Him.

Hallelujah!

This moment underscores the depth of God’s love and the boundless extent of His Grace as He says these words to Prophet Zephaniah;

Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. The LORD has taken away your judgements, he has cast out your enemy; the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in your midst: you shall not see harm any more.

The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

Hallelujah! Glory to God

Have you ever felt like you did that something so awful before God? Have you ever felt soaked in shame to even come before God in repentance? Take heart. There is Good News for you. The mercy of God is mightier than His anger. And as believers living under the covenant of Grace, we have an unparalleled privilege - the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross, which covers our sins and reconciles us to God.

Now you can come before God, not with shame, but with hope. Not with fear, but with faith. For in Jesus, you are met with mercy, compassion, and unconditional love.

Hallelujah!

If you humble your heart before God and ask for His forgiveness, you can rest in the assurance that He will save you, He will rejoice over you with joy, He will quiet you with His Love and He will rejoice over you with singing!

This is such a powerful display of God's Grace in the Book of Zephaniah.
